Cutting Edge Contemporary Railing, both Traditional and Non-Traditional

These photos are of a contemporary railing utilizing traditional Iron alloy, and with ages old method of blackening and renaissance wax. The designs also called for scale texture to be visible, which in some pieces was natural and for some pieces we had to create intentionally for it to be harmonious.

Bottom photos are polished stainless to a #4 sheen. Simple in design, but very difficult to execute because of the absence of a bottom bar. In the fabrication process, there was rigid bottom member to keep the frame from racking away from the desired angle for the stairs. But by trial and error, and tweaking the process, it was done to perfection.

The flat bar top rail along with double posts with the visual stimulation of negative space truly makes it ingenious, elegant, and cutting edge.
