Just like Compass Ironworks is being constantly scrutinizing its methods for improvement and excellence, Amos Glick is taking the same thought leadership to the industry on the national level through NOMMA, the National Ornamental and Miscellaneous Metal Association.

Compass Ironworks was the sole AIA, ASID and ASLA educational provider from the industry to help the design communities better fulfill their clients, needs with the timeless beauty of Iron. This past March, Amos put his experience to work and presented on a national level at the National NOMMA Conference to architects, designers and landscape architects that attended. Amos is also on the NOMMA Industry Marketing committee to facilitate this same learning experience all across the country.

Amos is also involved in the Accreditation and Certification committee to raise the bar for the Iron industry and advocate education and knowledge to better the industry. The goal is for the industry to deepen their individual knowledge, promote quality awareness which will translate into a better Ironworks experience for consumers across the country.

The standards for the workshops are still being developed with there being 3 tiers to be designated, silver gold or platinum. The shops knowledge base and sophistication level will dictate what rank that shop reaches. The North East Chapter of NOMMA meets periodically at different workshops across the region.

Amos is the vice president who helps facilitate these events to share knowledge and information for everyone within the local area so that each craftsman can go back to their own shop and improve their business.

Thanks to the Compass team. The original work that was done 12 years ago still looks great. Unfortunately, we had to remove the railings to install new pillars this year due to weather related issues with the stones. Compass removed the rails and reinstalled them after the repairs were done. All looks beautiful again.

We were thrilled to work with Compass again on our back porch project! The end result is gorgeous and the process was seem less. In a time characterized by delays, labor shortages and supply chain issues, Compass exceeded our expectations by providing a beautiful product and outstanding service in a timely manner. We look forward to working with Compass again in the future on all our metalwork needs.

Thank you so much again for your help!

Compass was very flexible when we changed our design. Quality was so wonderful, and unexpected.
We would never go to anyone else.

Amos, your team exceeded extremely high expectations. The stairs are the heart and soul of the house, and as the main focal point are a treasure to the owners and architect. Every visit is followed by “come see the stairs”. I know how challenging it was to build and install this masterpiece, having worked as a builder for 50 plus years, and admire how your crew stayed positive and focused throughout. I can’t wait for the next one!
